As a Catholic school, we deliver Religious Education using the ‘Come and See’ programme, recommended and supported by the Liverpool Archdiocese Christian Education Department. This programme is structured around three key themes: Christian Living, the Church, and the Sacraments, which are explored through various topics taught across all year groups.

The teaching process in ‘Come and See’ follows three stages: Explore, Reveal, and Respond. These stages help students develop their knowledge, understanding, skills, and attitudes, utilizing a range of teaching and learning styles to cater to the individual needs of each pupil.

In addition to Christian teachings, the programme includes lessons on other world religions, such as Judaism, Hinduism, Islam, and Sikhism.

This academic year, we are introducing the new Religious Education Directory Curriculum, ‘To Know You More Clearly,’ for our Early Years Foundation Stage (Nursery and Reception). The new curriculum will be rolled out to all other year groups by September 2025, as per the guidance from the Archdiocese of Liverpool.

For more information about the new curriculum, please refer to the RE Handbook and the EYFS Model Curriculum, available through the links provided below.
